Job summary

A community support organization in Hamilton is seeking a Direct Support Facilitator to help individuals with developmental disabilities achieve fulfilling lives. The role includes collaborating with staff to implement meaningful development plans and foster community participation. Ideal candidates will have a social sciences education, experience with adults with disabilities, and qualifications in First Aid and CPR. The position promotes a positive and inclusive environment.

Qualifications

  • Two years of experience working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
  • A valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle are necessary.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR and NVCI certifications are required.

Job description
Overview

The Direct Support Facilitator has the goal of helping build great lives for the individuals, their families and the community we serve by fostering an enriching and responsive community participation environment. Working as members of a larger connection of supports, Direct Support Facilitators – Community Participation will collaborate with other staff members to implement meaningful development plans and programming/activity schedules that flow from a client centered philosophy.

Hours of Work: Monday, Tuesday & Friday – 8am – 4pm

Qualifications
  • DSW, SSW or Social Sciences degree or diploma in a related field.
  • Two (2) years recent experience working with adults with a developmental disability preferred.
  • Strong commitment to the individuals supported by Community Living Hamilton.
  • Positive attitude and a true appreciation for diverse abilities.
  • A valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Valid First Aid/CPR Certification.
  • Valid NVCI Certification.
