Job summary

The City of Woodstock is looking for an Aquatics Instructor to assist in delivering swim lessons under Lifesaving Society programs. The ideal candidate should be certified in Lifesaving Assistant Water Safety Instructor, hold current lifeguarding qualifications, and have strong communication skills. This position offers a chance to join a community-focused team and contribute to creating a safe and enjoyable swimming experience for all participants.

Qualifications

• Current qualifications must be maintained (within two years of certification).
• Experience in evaluating swim lesson candidates.

Responsibilities

• Assist in the instruction of Lifesaving Society Swim programs for all ages.
• Help set up pool areas and clean up after lessons.
• Evaluate swim lesson candidates and address parent concerns.

Salary Range:$17.19 - $17.72 as per Schedule "A"

Responsibilities

• Assists in the instruction Lifesaving Society Swim programs (Preschool, Parent and tot, Youth and Adult) programs.
• Assists the Instructor as directed, performing duties, such as, but not limited to:
  • Assist the instructor in the delivery of swim lessons,
  • Assists in evaluating candidates,
  • Assists with questions/concerns from parents.
• Qualifications must remain current at all times (within two years of certification date).
• Performs other duties as assigned from time to time.
• Help with the set up deck and pool prior to Instruction periods and clean up after.

Qualifications

• Lifesaving Assistant Water Safety Instructor Certificate,
• Bronze Cross Certificate or National Lifeguard,
• Standard First Aid and CPR-C,
• Excellent physical condition,
• Ability to pleasantly deal with the public.

Hours of work not to exceed forty-eight (48) hours in a two week period in accordance with the C.U.P.E., Local 1146 - Inside/Part-time Unit collective agreement.
