Overview

Kal Tire is Canada’s largest independent tire dealer and one of North America’s largest commercial tire dealers. Kal Tire’s Mining Tire Group is a leader in mining tire service and supply, servicing more than 150 mine sites across five continents.

Cote Gold Project is located in the Chester and Yeo Townships, District of Sudbury, in northeastern Ontario. It is approximately 20 km southwest of Gogama, 130 km southwest of Timmins, and 200 km northwest of Sudbury, roughly 5 km west of Highway 144.

The project area is characterized by gentle hills, forests, lakes, and rivers. It is located on two sub-watersheds, the Mollie River system and the Mesomikenda River system. Additionally, the continental watershed divide is located south of the project property, with the nearest boundary located southwest and more than 3.5 km from the proposed open‑pit location.

The shift schedule for this position would be 14 x 14 off.

Job Responsibilities
  • Perform tire service on customer equipment the Kal Tire way.
  • Collaborate with mine maintenance staff, conduct maintenance on tools and equipment, and ensure tire inspection and maintenance programs are meticulously upheld.
  • Respond to after‑hours callouts as directed, showcasing and advocating for best practices and continuous improvement in all operations.
  • Dismount and mount tires for various mining vehicles, ensuring safety and load requirements are met.
  • Operate heavy‑duty tire servicing equipment and tools, conduct repairs, inspections, and calibrations with precision and adherence to safety standards.
  • Maintain compliance with Health, Safety & Environment, report hazards, and actively contribute to maintaining hygiene standards.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment, conduct pre‑start checks, and participate in safety meetings and inspections.
What Kind of Person Are We Looking For?
  • At least two years of related experience with direct experience as a tire fitter preferred.
  • OTR service training and certifications desired. Basic tire fitting skills – Tire Fitter Levels 1 & 2 preferred.
  • Experience operating and maintaining tire manipulators, forklifts, and service trucks.
  • Experience working in an environment where safety procedures are a key part of daily operations.
