Role Description

This role contributes to the overall success of Security Operations in Canada by ensuring that specific individual goals, plans, and initiatives are executed and delivered in support of the team’s business strategies and objectives. All activities are conducted in compliance with governing regulations, internal policies and procedures.
Responsibilities
- Champion a customer‑focused culture to deepen client relationships and leverage broader bank relationships, systems, and knowledge.
- Support the monitoring, collection, and compilation of incoming requests to identify issues that may impact the bank.
- Analyze identified issues, trends, and risks and coordinate appropriate responses based on established criteria.
- Disseminate findings to create a common operating picture and situational awareness for key stakeholders.
- Use established criteria to identify, categorize, and process information relevant to risk exposure.
- Disseminate information through verbal and written incident notifications and summary reports to management and stakeholders.
- Intake, triage, and action requests from internal and external stakeholders requiring support from Corporate Security.
- Assess risk, identify trends, collect supporting documents, and conduct effective risk mitigation practices throughout the documentation and escalation process.
- Operationalize the retrieval and preparation of evidence and supporting documents for use by internal customers and external partners to mitigate potential financial and reputational loss.
- Establish and maintain a liaison with law enforcement agencies and other financial institutions to foster collaboration in the investigation of criminal acts against the bank and the resolution of problems affecting bank security.
- Utilize systems used in the prevention, detection, analysis, and response to incidents that could impact Scotiabank employees, clients, or assets.
- Provide support to the Security Operations Centre as required or directed by management.
- Consider the bank’s risk appetite and risk culture in day‑to‑day activities and decisions.
- Maintain current knowledge of bank policies and regulations and comply with legal and regulatory requirements globally.
- Actively pursue effective and efficient operations within the area of responsibility in accordance with Scotiabank’s values, its Code of Conduct, and the Global Sales Principles, ensuring adequacy, adherence, and effectiveness of day‑to‑day business controls to meet operational, compliance, AML/ATF/sanctions, and conduct risk obligations.

Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree, college diploma, and/or equivalent related experience preferred.
- Experience in critical incident management, security, law enforcement, financial services, dispatching, call centre, customer service, or information technology is preferred.
- Working knowledge of bank IT applications, systems, and security controls.
- Working knowledge of Canadian retail banking products and services.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite.
- High degree of fluency in English with excellent written communication skills; French/Spanish desirable.
