This is an interview position plus CEV.

This is a frontline supervisor position that supports the FedEx Express (FXE) Safety Above All Culture and manages specific day‑to‑day sort operations and assigned Cargo Handlers (CH) staff within a station. The Operations Supervisor has oversight for all CH functions, including the direction of work activities, employee mentoring/coaching/training ensuring administrative processes are compliant with FXE policies and procedures and government regulations.

Responsibilities

Lead and guide employees in proper package handling, routing, and recovery of potential service failures within the station sort function. Direct work activities, mentor, coach, and train staff, ensuring compliant administrative processes. Manage daily sort operations and coordinate with Cargo Handlers. Resolve conflict, simplify business processes, and take accountability for departmental failure, acting quickly to find solutions.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • College degree
  • 2 years FedEx sort operations or senior level hourly role experience OR 2 years supervisory experience in related industry
  • Valid driver’s license with a good driving record
  • Ability to lift 70 lbs and maneuver any package weighing up to 150 lbs with appropriate equipment
  • Ability to successfully complete all basic and recurrency training (including DG certification)
  • Mentor, coach, and act as a knowledge resource to other employees
  • Inspire a shared vision, empower and motivate a team
  • Prioritize and delegate in a time‑sensitive manner
  • Resolve conflict and communicate effectively with empathy
  • Simplify business processes while ensuring quality
  • Take accountability for department failure and act quickly to find solutions
  • Strong organizational, planning, and analytical skills
