Agropur is looking for an Operations Project Manager to join its team in Notre-Dame-du-Bon-Conseil.

The mission of the Operations Project Manager is to implement a quality culture within an expert work cell. The person in this role must actively contribute to the implementation of quality strategies and performance improvement. They play a key role in developing teams around evolving quality and technical standards in the plant, as well as resolving issues effectively to minimize financial impact. They must also develop standards and working groups to meet customer requirements and help maintain food quality, safety, and sanitation standards.

• Salary range 005: $82,600 to $103,200 (salary will be determined based on skills, training, education, and experience relevant to the position).

What’s involved in this role:

The Operations Project Manager will be responsible for:

• Leading the deployment of vision, strategies, and priorities across sector teams;

• Being accountable for departmental/sector results and achieving goals including safety, quality, reliability, production, and cost;

• Developing the skills of production department operators and triad experts in collaboration with the Production Director;

• Attending all site training and coaching the organization on the importance of being present on the floor. Conduct coaching and health checks with sector experts and demonstrate completion of effective health assessments;

• Ensuring equipment and process reliability and optimization;

• Implementing strategies to improve cheese yield;

• Establishing, maintaining, and improving the effectiveness of daily management systems;

• Leading a 90-day team plan and personally driving actions to eliminate specific organizational losses;

• Organizing and executing tasks during plant shutdowns;

• Improving SAP transactions.

What you need to join our team:

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, or other relevant education;

• 5 to 7 years of experience in a similar role within a unionized manufacturing environment;

• Experience in the food industry (an asset);

• Mastery of Lean principles;

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in both French and English (English required to work with colleagues from other Canadian provinces).
