Overview

With over 50 years in the Transportation industry, Midland Transport has grown into a dynamic company throughout Atlantic Canada, Quebec, Ontario and the northeastern United States. Midland Courier is currently seeking an Operations Manager for our Concord Terminal. Reporting to the Terminal Manager, the Operations Manager is responsible for all operational areas while ensuring efficiency and on-time service goals are met.

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for the attainment of budgeted cost, safety, service, quality and utilization metrics for the Transport and/or Courier operations at the terminal.
  • Responsible for managing direct reports to achieve or exceed budgeted performance.
  • Maintain staff engagement levels and foster a positive environment where employee issues are dealt with.
  • Accountable for overall terminal safety for dock, PD and office operations. Implement safety plan and enforcement as required.
  • Responsible for demonstrating excellent leadership characteristics and the Irving Values.
  • Responsible for the implementation of the Irving Management System and a culture of continuous improvement at the Terminal.
  • Responsible for the development, coaching and mentoring of direct reports.
  • Equipment oversight to advise on repairs and company standards are met.
  • Assist with customer service issues and meet with area customers as required.
Qualifications
  • You have 5-7 Years of supervisory/management experience with responsibilities in operation (Asset)
  • You have Transportation industry experience (Asset)
  • You have a post-Secondary degree in Business Management (Asset)
  • You have energy, enthusiasm, and a professional demeanor
  • You have strong organizational, problem-solving, and analytical skills
  • You have exceptional communication skills both verbal and written
  • You are familiar with Microsoft Office
