Job summary

A leading healthcare institution in Toronto is seeking a temporary part-time Registered Nurse (RN) for its Inpatient High Tolerance Rehabilitation Unit. As an RN, you will provide client-centered care, evaluate nursing interventions, and work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team. Candidates must be registered with the College of Nurses of Ontario and have a current BCLS certification. Experience in geriatric rehabilitation is preferred, and the hourly pay rate ranges from $39.07 to $56.00.

Qualifications

  • Registered Nurse with current registration in good standing with CNO.

Position Details

Position Type: Temporary, Part-Time (up to 12 months)

Shift Type: Evening, alternate weekends (subject to change)

Hourly Pay Rate: $39.07 - $56.00

Bi-Weekly Hours: 30 Hours

Unit Description

The Inpatient High Tolerance Rehabilitation (HTR) Unit is for patients requiring therapy due to musculoskeletal conditions. The unit helps patients attain maximum physical and functional goals while addressing emotional, social and spiritual needs to support return to independent living in the community.

Responsibilities
  • Provides sound clinical knowledge and assessment skills, acts as a clinical expert and resource, and delivers comprehensive, client/family-centred health care services from admission through transfers and discharge.
  • Plans for, delivers and evaluates nursing interventions, including medication administration and treatments within the RN scope of practice.
  • Provides client-centred care within an interdisciplinary care team to meet personal care, activation, recreation and spiritual needs to support return to baseline functioning and discharge to the community.
Qualifications
  • Current registration, in good standing, with the College of Nurses of Ontario (CNO) is required.
  • Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certificate, Level C with AED is required.
  • BScN preferred.
  • Previous geriatric rehabilitation experience preferred.
  • Demonstrated professional accountability for leading, organizing, providing and delegating care activities for the unit, clients and families.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Basic computer skills – Meditech, Microsoft Word and Excel; RM&R Resource Matching and Referral preferred.
  • Certification in Rehabilitation nursing preferred.
