The Night Shift Team Lead is the leader-on-duty for the night shift, ensuring deliveries are made on-time, driver performance is managed properly, and the skills of the Class 3 professional driving team are developed. The goal is to build a culture of success on the night shift by overseeing driver performance, monitoring customer satisfaction scores, and supporting the current driving team during overnight shifts. Success depends on building relationships with drivers, maintaining safety standards, and ensuring scheduled deliveries are carried out within their timeframes.
Your Responsibilities
- Lead a team of Class 3 overnight shift drivers to ensure night shift performance remains within stated KPIs for shift attendance, delivery fulfillment times, and the weCommit safety program
- Serve as the primary contact on the overnight shift, handling and triaging after-hours incidents. This role works independently and is empowered to coordinate and resolve all after-hours operational issues; only the most complex issues are escalated
- Engage stakeholders to work through complex logistical issues and gain consensus for resolution
- Deliver status updates, reports and pertinent information to Distribution Managers and internal stakeholders regularly
- Make difficult and time-sensitive decisions to support business objectives
- Promote and champion the weCommit safety program to ensure personal and process safety goals are achieved
- Propose and implement recommendations to optimize performance, improve after-hours processes, and develop efficiencies
- Lead response to all after-hours driver emergencies and non-emergencies, coordinating planning, prioritization, and problem solving
- Partner with dispatch to ensure execution of scheduled work and troubleshoot issues within the workflow process
- Monitor E-log reporting for all after-hours drivers and maintain data integrity within TMW for all drivers
Your Skills
- Robust leadership and performance management skills with the ability to hold employees accountable to stated metrics

- Strong creative problem-solving and decision-making skills
Your Experience
- High School / G.E.D. Diploma
- 2-3 years of experience in a leadership position
- 5-10 years of progressive experience in a transportation or logistics role, preferably in operational leadership, dispatch, fleet maintenance, or as a professional driver
