Job Description
This is a remote position.
We are seeking an experienced .NET Developer for a fully remote, long-term contract with our Provincial Client in Fredericton. In this role, you will be a key contributor to the Student Financial Services (SFS) solution, ensuring its stability, security, and performance through development, maintenance, and enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in the analysis, design, development, and implementation of changes and upgrades to the SFS solution using ASP.NET Core MVC.
- Collaborate on UI/UX design and ensure responsive, user-friendly interfaces.
- Analyze and resolve bugs, implement change requests, and propose secure, scalable solutions.
- Develop and maintain SQL scripts, stored procedures, and database optimizations in MS SQL Server.
- Ensure compliance with secure coding practices and data privacy requirements.
- Write automated unit tests (NUnit/MSTest) and support QA testing.
- Work in an Agile environment, participating in scrums, sprint planning, and progress updates.
- Contribute to technical documentation for bug fixes, updates, and system improvements.
- Develop and maintain .NET Core REST APIs and integrate with front-end frameworks like jQuery.
- Utilize Azure DevOps for CI/CD, version control, and project tracking.
Requirements
Mandatory Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience).
- 8+ years of ASP.NET / ASP.NET Core MVC development.
- 4+ years of MS SQL Server (scripts, stored procedures).
- 1+ year of Identity Management solutions.
Scored Requirements (Analytical Skillset):
- S1: 4+ years designing secure applications (data confidentiality & privacy).
- S2: 4+ years in Agile/Scrum environments.
- S3: 4+ years translating User Stories/requirements into technical solutions.
Scored Requirements (Technical Skillset):
- S4: 5+ years following coding best practices & code reviews.
- S5: 4+ years in UI Responsive Design (jQuery, front-end frameworks).
- S6: 1+ year working with design systems.
- S7: 4+ years with Unit Testing (NUnit/MSTest).
- S8: 2+ years developing .NET Core REST APIs.
- S9: 2+ years with Azure DevOps.
- S10: 2+ years in the Canadian Public Sector (preferred).
- S11: 2+ years in Student Financial Services (Canada, preferred).
