Position Details:

  3. Position Duration: Permanent
  4. Staff Accommodation: No
  5. Wage Range: $23.23 - $25.08 Hourly

Job Overview: The primary role of these positions is to perform effective lifeguarding, custodial duties, public relations, and various administrative/operational duties as assigned. The purpose of this posting is to create a casual call list to assist with periods of increased workload and to cover temporary staff leaves.

Responsibilities:

  1. Act as an ambassador for the Community Development Department and the Municipality of Jasper to the members of the public, staff, and Council.
  2. Promote and enable safe and enjoyable experiences for members and guests of the Municipality while at the Fitness & Aquatic Centre through effective lifeguarding and customer service.
  3. Communicate effectively and appropriately with members and guests of the Municipality as well as contractors and Municipal staff, including face-to-face, telephone, print, and electronic communications.
  4. Understand and follow all applicable Municipal and Facility Policy and Procedures, including the Health and Safety program, to ensure the Fitness & Aquatic Centre remains safe, clean, and healthy.
  5. Regularly review Emergency Procedures, participate in training to ensure appropriate emergency response, and follow up.
  6. Understand and follow the Collective Agreement between the Municipality and C.U.P.E. local 1458.
  7. Perform various administrative, operational, custodial, and any other job duties as assigned, as operational needs dictate.

Position Requirements:

English Fluency Level required for position: Advanced

  2. Lifesaving Society – National Lifeguard Certification
