Peter Lucas Project Management is a group of energetic and curious problem-solvers; we are currently looking for a Mill Supervisor to join our team.

The Mill Supervisor oversees day-to-day production activities to support the continuous operations of the potash facility. This includes all facets of production supervision namely management of hourly employees, material handling, product quality, safety, environmental, maintenance and projects. Assist with the implementation of process improvements and capital projects as needed. Support employee training and qualifications and serve as a liaison between management, operations, maintenance, and support groups. This position will work 12-hour shifts between days and nights, supervise a crew of 10 Mill Operators, and report directly to the Mill Superintendent.

Responsibilities
  • Maintain safe and environmentally sound operating conditions within equipment design parameters.
  • Lead, Schedule, coach, train, and develop hourly employees as needed.
  • Facilitate ongoing communication between hourly employees and management to ensure proper and efficient rail operation, product quality, allocation of resources, safety and environmental.
  • Work with operations and maintenance to troubleshoot and address problems in the plant to maximize product and raw materials flow and safety.
  • Assist in the implementation of process improvements or capital projects.
  • Responsible for conducting audits and inspections
  • Review and authorize work permits
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma/ GED with 5 years supervisory experience.
  • Technical Diploma or Degree is considered an asset.
  • Must have experience in an industrial or chemical processing facility.
  • Potash mill experience is considered a strong asset.
  • Strong motivational, organizational, interpersonal and communication skills in a fast-paced environment is required.
  • Must have working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite. Experience with Maximo, Pi, OIs is considered an asset.
  • Facilities operate on a 24/7 continuous schedule. Ability to work rotating shifts (days and nights), holidays, and weekends is required.
  • Candidates must be able to complete physical tasks, including lifting, carrying, climbing stairs, and moving materials.
  • Candidates must be willing to adapt to both indoor and outdoor environments with varying temperatures, from hot summer conditions to cold winter environments.
