A community-focused organization in Victoria seeks a part-time Mental Health Worker to assist vulnerable populations. The Mental Health Worker provides a variety of housing and shelter services including case planning, programming, assisting with daily physical and emotional supports, responding to overdoses, administering first aid and Naloxone, accepting referrals, registering, orienting, and advocating for clients.
We are looking for someone who has a genuine interest in working with clients who are currently vulnerably housed or experiencing homelessness, as well as those who have previously experienced housing vulnerability. In this role, you will work collaboratively with your team to advocate for clients and provide them with client-centered support, including connecting them to external resources.
To succeed, you will have an excellent understanding of the issues faced by our client group. This includes experience working with individuals from diverse backgrounds who face multiple barriers, such as substance use, mental health concerns, low incomes, and negative impacts of colonialism and racism.
Hourly Wage Rate: $30.18 - $33.49
Work Location: 535 Ellice St - Rock Bay Landing
Shift Time: 12:00 PM to 10:00 PM
