Through the Health Care Provider Contract, Calian employs health care professionals across Canada who are integral to supporting the health and wellbeing of our military members.

Position Overview

Calian Health Services is seeking a Medical Radiation Technologist to work full time at CFB Esquimalt. This role includes generous allotment of time for booked appointments, giving you the opportunity to provide quality care. A fully functional clinic with access to diagnostic and support services within the clinic or the local community.

Responsibilities
  • Provide diagnostic imaging services in accordance with CAMRT and provincial Medical Radiation Technologist Association standards and scope of practice
  • Provide diagnostic imaging reception services by recording and completing the patient's medical documentation
  • Receive and process X-ray requisitions
  • Prepare patients for examination and obtain patient consent (e.g. implied, verbal, or written) for procedures through accurate explanation and instruction
  • Perform general, special, and emergency diagnostic imaging examinations by applying diagnostic radiographic and/or fluoroscopic and diagnostic imaging procedures or techniques
Qualifications
  • Current certification and membership as a Medical Radiation Technologist with the CAMRT
  • Current license with the British Columbia Association of Medical Radiation Technologists
  • Valid certificate of Standard First Aid and Basic Life Support (BLS) to Healthcare Provider or equivalent such as Cardio-pulmonary Resuscitation/Automated External Defibrillator (CPA/AED) Level C
  • Minimum of 2 years of work experience working in a clinic or hospital as a Medical Radiation Technologist performing general, special, emergency, interventional, and operative radiology examinations observing safe radiation protection practices or procedures
  • Applying diagnostic imaging quality assurance and quality control practices and programs
  • Operating and maintaining digital imaging equipment and accessories such as digital radiography, Radiology Information Systems, Computed Radiography, and Picture Archival and Communication Systems
Additional Requirements
  • You will be able to obtain a Government Security Clearance at the Reliability level
