Mechanical Estimator – Construction

Location: Grand Falls‑Windsor, NL A2A 2K7.

Salary: $40.00 to $50.00 per hour (to be negotiated). 30‑40 hours per week, full‑time, permanent employment.

Employment Terms

Day shift, 08:00 to 17:00.

Work must be completed at the physical location. There is no option to work remotely.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare estimates of labour and/or material costs.
  • Prepare pre‑qualification submissions for clients.
  • Read blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine work requirements.
  • Prepare estimates for general expenses and overheads.
  • Create and submit estimate reports, quote sheets and bid forms.
  • Advise on tendering procedures.
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems.
  • Monitor and adjust contract expenditures.
  • Prepare and maintain a directory of supplies and trade contractors.
  • Liaise, consult and communicate with engineers, architects, owners, contractors and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
Qualifications
  • Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Experience: 5 years or more.
