About the Role

We’re currently looking for a Mechanical Designer to join our growing team in Burlington, ON.

What Will You Be Doing?
  • Provide the coordination, verification, and design of mechanical building systems in various sectors (multi-family residential, commercial, industrial).
  • Develop mechanical system designs in compliance with applicable municipal, provincial, and national building codes, as well as relevant industry standards.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines—such as architectural, structural, electrical, and fire protection—to ensure seamless integration of mechanical systems.
  • Create HVAC system layouts, including the sizing and design of ductwork and piping for heating, ventilation, and air conditioning.
  • Develop plumbing system layouts and designs, including gas piping, sanitary and storm drainage, and domestic water distribution.
  • Perform detailed calculations to accurately size mechanical equipment, ductwork, HVAC piping, and plumbing systems.
  • Utilize computer-aided design tools, including AutoCAD and Revit, to develop mechanical system designs.
  • Liaise with equipment vendors and manufacturers for mechanical equipment selections, obtain technical support, and ensure alignment with project requirements.
  • Conduct site inspections and support construction activities by preparing change directives and addressing issues as they arise during the construction phase.
What You Bring?
  • Diploma or degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Design, or Engineering Technology.
  • Registration in good standing with PEO as an Engineer-in-Training (E.I.T.) considered an asset.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Proven experience in the design of multi-family residential, commercial, and industrial building projects.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, AutoCAD, and Revit.
  • Solid understanding of applicable building codes and standards related to mechanical engineering and consulting.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Comfortable multi-tasking and prioritizing tasks without guidance.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and highly organized, with the ability to manage tight deadlines, self-schedule, and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams across various sectors and locations.
