Hatch is seeking a Mechanical Design Technologist Student with an interest in process plant layout and equipment design for a 12-month internship starting January 2026. Reporting to the High-Pressure Metallurgy Mechanical Detail lead, you will support offices globally working from our Mississauga Head Office.

As the successful candidate, you will:

  • Development of 3D models of various mineral processing equipment in an integrated CAD environment.
  • Design of custom fabricated mechanical equipment in a 2D and 3D environment.
  • Coordinate with a multidiscipline team of technologists and engineers to advance proposed designs and layouts to completion.
  • Preparation and updates to project deliverables including general arrangement drawings

You bring to the role:

  • Working towards a 3-year Engineering Technology Diploma from an accredited post-secondary institution.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Hard worker willing to work extra hours when required to meet deadlines.
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team.Eager to learn about the work, the group and the mining industry.
  • Experience in 3D modeling and 2D drawing production.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Software (Word, Excel, etc.).
  • Willing to travel if required.
