Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation

The Royal Alexandra Hospital Foundation (RAHF) is seeking a dynamic, experienced professional to lead and shape one of Alberta’s most impactful charitable gaming portfolios as Director, Lottery & Gaming. This role is a key member of the Operations & Strategic Initiatives team and will lead the execution and evolution of the Foundation’s lottery and gaming strategy to drive essential revenue for healthcare initiatives in Alberta.

You’ll work in partnership with lottery managers, vendors, and provincial foundation partners to grow and manage our lottery programs. Key Responsibilities
  • Lottery & Gaming Strategy & Operations: Lead the strategic development and day-to-day execution of all lottery and gaming initiatives.
  • Ensure compliance with AGLC regulations.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to deliver on revenue, operational, and marketing goals through our lotteries.
  • Provide oversight and direction for lottery programs, working closely with vendors, lottery managers, and health foundation partners across Alberta.
  • Attend and support lottery events, draws, and winner announcements as the Foundation’s spokesperson.
Marketing, Communications & Public Engagement
  • Guide and oversee the creation of lottery-related marketing campaigns and content in partnership with internal communications and external agencies.
  • Act as the RAHF public face and media spokesperson for lottery programs.
  • Ensure brand alignment and cause integration across all lottery communications and campaigns.
  • Develop engaging messaging and marketing across all channels.
Innovation, Development & Growth
  • Identify opportunities to grow gaming revenues and explore emerging charitable gaming trends.
  • Analyze consumer and donor data to drive insights and performance improvements.
  • Lead exploration of new lottery models or gaming ventures aligned with the Foundation’s mission.
Casino & Raffle Oversight
  • Oversee Foundation casino activities, including applications, volunteer coordination, and compliance.
  • Provide best practices and administrative support for raffles and smaller-scale gaming initiatives.
What You Bring
  • A degree in Business or related field (Master’s degree a plus).
  • 5+ years of experience in marketing, business development, consumer insights, or charitable gaming.
  • Proven track record in launching and managing complex, high-revenue projects.
  • Strong understanding of Alberta’s charitable gaming environment and experience with AGLC.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; media spokesperson experience is an asset.
  • Collaborative leadership style with the ability to influence, motivate, and build relationships across sectors.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills with acute attention to detail.
  • Experience with data analysis tools, CRM platforms (e.g., Raiser’s Edge), and Microsoft Office Suite.
Assets
  • Project Management education or certification.
  • Familiarity with public sector fundraising or nonprofit lottery environments.
  • Experience with stakeholder relations in healthcare or government-regulated sectors.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings or weekends for key events or draws.
