Summary
Reporting directly to the Sales and Marketing Manager, the Marketing Assistant will be responsible for a range of technical and administrative duties to support the efficient functioning of our stores while minding ICS’s policies and procedures for all actions and decisions. This role is instrumental in maintaining our commitment to quality and customer satisfaction. The Marketing Assistant will support and follow ICS’s mission and values.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prioritize providing exceptional customer service to deliver a positive customer experience thereby cultivating a positive reputation for the company and fostering customer loyalty
- Administer in-store marketing digital assets, ensuring prompt and accurate updates
- Assist in planning and executing in-person and online events
- Execute in-store product demonstration to support marketing campaigns and gather consumer feedback
- Gather, research, and prepare communications material for internal and external audiences
- Ensure that all materials are developed and distributed according to an appropriate timeline
- Aiding in promoting brand initiatives consistent with corporate business goals and objectives
- Publicizing activities and events
- Keeping up to date on current marketing trends
- Building the online shopping site product database, based on the online shopping strategy framework
- Identify marketing opportunities for products and services
- Collaborating to develop and create online and social media content
- Other duties as required.
Qualifications
Education
- High school diploma or GED from an accredited school system or program is required.
- Post-secondary education in Business Administration with focus on Marketing is preferred.
Experience
- Previous experience in marketing is considered an asset.
- Familiarity with digital marketing tools and software.
- Basic understanding of marketing principles and strategies.
Skills and Abilities
- Excellent listening and communication skills, both verbal and written.
- General understanding of social media marketing.
- Ability to work under pressure while maintaining a professional demeanor.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic photography and videography skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
- Experience using Adobe creative suite, Meta Ads, and Google Ads are considered an asset.
- Genuine concern for the needs of both internal and external customers.
Working Conditions
- Typical schedule is Monday to Friday day shifts with flexibility to work occasional evenings and weekends.
- Ability to work at any of our Edmonton or Sherwood Park locations.
- Exposed to hot and cold environments.
- Setting up and attending events.
- Required at times to work with challenging customers and / or situations.
Physical Requirements
- Long periods of working at a desk and computer.
- Periods of standing and walking for extended periods of time.
- Frequent motions include bending, twisting, squatting, pushing, pulling, and reaching.
- Includes manual and repetitive tasks.
- On occasion, you may be required to lift up to 22.5 kg (50 lbs)
