Qualifications

Manufacturing Engineer (Controls)

Job Description

What you can look forward to as a Manufacturing Engineer:

  • Support production by restoring equipment and system functionality during breakdowns and providing technical engineering assistance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve root causes of equipment and process issues, including PLCs/HMIs (Allen-Bradley, Siemens), Fanuc robots, sensors, I/O blocks, vision systems, and barcode readers.
  • Program, configure, and troubleshoot Atlas Copco electronic assembly tools, controllers, servos, and related automation systems.
  • Plan, manage, and complete assigned engineering projects, coordinating with Maintenance, vendors, and fellow MEs to ensure timely execution.
  • Develop, evaluate, and document manufacturing processes while continuously analyzing flow for safety, quality, cost, and throughput improvements.
  • Identify process gaps, create contingency plans for equipment failures, and support customer trials by gathering and providing technical data.
  • Participate in daily cross-functional meetings, document detailed shift reports, and support employee technical training initiatives.
  • Design and implement process enhancements, tooling/fixture updates, and new product manufacturing methods; prepare project proposals, procure equipment, and manage RFQs and vendor communication.

Your profile as a Manufacturing Engineer:

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering with knowledge of manufacturing concepts and SPC/Control Charts.

Strong background in PLCs, robotics, error-proofing methods, and problem-resolution methodologies.

Familiarity with OHSA, TS 16949, and IATF 16949 standards, plus experience working on multidisciplinary projects.

Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

Strong computer proficiency, including Microsoft Office; CAD experience (AutoCAD/SolidWorks) is an asset.

Experience with electronic torque tools, MES systems, and JIT environments considered beneficial.

Ability to multitask, prioritize, and handle frequent disruptions in a loud, non-temperature-controlled factory environment.

Comfortable wearing PPE and adapting to typical manufacturing working conditions.
