Overview
The Scotiabank Strategy team is a growing, high‑performing team that develops and executes strategy at an enterprise and business line level for Canada’s leading international bank. The team works closely with senior management, business line leaders, and a diverse set of stakeholders to deliver strategic advice that solves business problems through research, analysis, and compelling recommendations.
Responsibilities
- Strategic projects (70‑80%): Lead customized strategy development and advisory support, including research, analysis, and recommendations.
- Prepare project plans, manage timelines, and deliverables.
- Gather data, perform financial analyses, and build models to assess future state benefits/costs.
- Manage multiple workstreams, leading workshops and interviews with cross‑functional teams.
- Synthesize findings and present clear recommendations and implementation plans.
- Build and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Strategic planning (20‑30%): Drive execution and management of strategy planning at enterprise and line level.
- Conduct strategic and business analysis, identify key issues, and propose recommendations.
- Communicate strategic plans and priorities to senior management and the Board.
- Perform competitive and market research to identify emerging trends and their implications.
- Assist with organizing strategy offsites and facilitating discussions.
Qualifications
- Undergraduate degree in business or engineering; graduate business degree preferred.
- Post‑MBA experience (2+ years) or post‑undergraduate experience (5+ years) in consulting, corporate strategy, or investment banking.
- Financial services industry experience preferred, but not required.
- Ability to deliver results in a fast‑paced, dynamic environment.
- Superior interpersonal, leadership, and influential skills.
- Exceptional planning, analytical, and presentation skills.
- Strong relationship‑management skills across the bank, partners, and vendors.
- Proven track record delivering innovative solutions from concept to change management.
- Proficiency with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
