Evanston Grand Village – Long-Term Care | Calgary, AB

Position Type: Temporary, Full-Time (1.00 FTE)

Position End Date: On or Before July 15, 2026

Shift Schedule: Day (Evenings and Weekends as needed)

Shift Times: 8:30 - 17:00 (8 hour shift)

We are seeking an organized and energetic Maintenance Manager who is committed to providing high-quality service and contributing to a supportive team environment.

What You’ll Do
  • Planning, coordinating, directing and monitoring the effectiveness of all operational activities within the maintenance department.
  • Planning, organizing and overseeing the department to ensure priorities are met.
  • Performing general and routine maintenance, minor repairs, fire safety, and scheduled servicing operations to maintain the site in a safe manner.
  • Determining scope of work, receiving cost estimates and referring problems requiring specialized work such as electrical or plumbing to outside contractors and monitors work performed.
  • Leading an effective recruitment, orientation, and performance management process in accordance with the organization standards for all team members within the department.
  • Managing and monitoring all expenditures, explains monthly variances and works with the Executive Director/General Manager to identity corrective action.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to manage an assigned team
What You Bring
  • Relevant post-secondary diploma in Building Systems or a related field.
  • Health and Safety Certification (Levels 1 and 2) required.
  • Strong knowledge of computerized building management systems, electrical distribution, fire alarm and sprinkler systems, emergency generator operations, and related testing requirements.
  • Ability to read and interpret building plans and technical drawings.
  • WHMIS training is an asset.
  • Experience in a care community or retirement residence is preferred.
  • A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening.
  • A negative TB test and up-to-date immunization record.
