NSB Omega is searching for a Maintenance Control Systems Technician for our MAJOR Oil & Gas Client in Norman Wells, NWT for a FIFO role on a 14/14 rotation.

Assignment Description

The Norman Wells Systems Technician is responsible to maintain the Process Control & PI system, complete preventative maintenance, and contribute to short/long term strategy development for controls equipment.

Proficient and knowledgeable in a number of Systems Technician skill areas.

  • Industrial Control System Requirements (ICSR)
  • Alarm and COP Management
  • Knowledge in Delta V & or ProWORX 32
  • Business practices and controls requirements.
  • Contractor interface awareness and direct supervision plan development.
  • Cross-functional engagement with operations, facilities engineering, maintenance lead/supervisor, and contractors.
  • Stewardship processes, including development of summarized KPIs for given area.
Results expected
  • Demonstrates safety as the top priority; brings forward all safety concerns and drives solutions.
  • Perform site ICSR administration and compliance activities.
  • Steward Alarm Management Meetings and follow up items to resolution.
  • Actively participates in morning team safety meetings.
  • Take an active role initiating and driving forward new ideas to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Communicates well with and supports the cross functional team (Ops, Engineering, Maintenance).
  • Demonstrates strong work ownership for work products and is able to work in a dynamic, fast paced environment, completing work within allotted latest allowable completion dates (LACD).
  • Active stewardship of site radio system hardware to ensure reliable operation.
  • All radio licenses (hand held's, etc) and communication with contract radio specialist directly
  • Support onsite EMIT initiatives as required (troubleshoot hardware, computer ports, set up training laptops, cyber security)
  • Attend monthly IT meetings
  • MOC implementation and sign offs
  • Support all other requests related to control systems
  • Systems networking
  • Other calls on the radio as the systems role is usually by the radio (suspend permits, TD etc).
  • Redlines - Drawing updates as related to Systems or projects work.
  • SAP close out of line items
  • Assisting planning group with scoping jobs
  • Maintain spare parts inventory
  • Help out other trades as required and workloads allow in Instrumentation, Electrical, etc as qualified. Including SAP closures, time on tools etc.
  • Support Cold Lake Systems on weekends or vacation providing remote back up coverage to retrieve focis files to ensure Production Accounting System (Energy Components) has current data
