Dow currently has an opening for a Maintenance and Engineering Group Leader in Toronto, ON.

The Maintenance Group Leader drives maintenance productivity for the assigned area, serves as the maintenance process and discipline owner, and acts as an administrative resource leader. This role has responsibility for safety, reliability and cost management, and ensures effective work process utilization, development of the process/operating discipline, and that the skills to support the work process are defined. The leader oversees a team of approximately 10 maintenance craft, technician, and engineering individual contributors and fosters a work environment with integrity, customer and safety focus, inclusion and diversity, innovation, sustainability, continuous improvement and empowerment.

Responsibilities
  • Serve as the people leader for the maintenance and engineering team and assure proper staffing levels.
  • Owns performance management process for the team.
  • Oversee functional/administrative goals and establish the budget aligned with business needs.
  • Drive maintenance productivity initiatives to achieve maintenance excellence in quality, cost, and time.
  • Engage with Maintenance Expertise Center and global/regional experts to implement and develop best practices for global use.
  • Ensure global best practices are fully implemented and utilized.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Engineering is required.
  • A minimum of 5 years of industrial experience in production, reliability, or maintenance.
  • Professional Engineering licensing in a Canadian province or territory (APEGA, PEO, etc.).
  • Experience with SAP work process and inventory is an asset.
  • A minimum requirement for this position is the ability to work legally in Canada. No visa sponsorship/support is available.

  • Leadership: Coaching of employees and staff on technical and behavioral aspects of maintaining a safe, reliable chemical facility.
