Job Summary
The Machine Operator – WEINMANN Equipment is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient operation of WEINMANN automated machinery used in the production of prefabricated wall, floor, and roof components. This role ensures products are manufactured to specification, quality standards are maintained, and production targets are met.
Key Responsibilities
Machine Operation
- Operate WEINMANN equipment (e.g., wall lines, CNC bridges, saws, nailing and framing stations) according to production schedules
- Load materials (lumber, panels, fasteners) into machines safely and correctly
- Set up machines for different product types and dimensions
- Monitor machine performance during operation and make minor adjustments as needed
Quality Control
- Verify dimensions, tolerances, and assembly accuracy per drawings and specifications
- Conduct routine in-process quality checks
- Identify defects, misalignments, or machine errors and report issues promptly
- Ensure finished components meet company and customer quality standards
Safety & Housekeeping
- Follow all plant safety policies, lockout/tagout procedures, and PPE requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Identify and report safety hazards or near-miss incidents
Maintenance & Troubleshooting
- Perform daily and weekly machine inspections
- Carry out basic preventative maintenance (cleaning, lubrication, tool changes)
- Assist maintenance personnel with diagnostics and repairs when required
- Report recurring mechanical or software issues
Documentation & Communication
- Read and interpret shop drawings, production schedules, and work instructions
- Complete production reports, quality checklists, and downtime logs
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, quality staff, and downstream operations
Qualifications & Skills
Required
- Experience operating CNC or automated manufacturing equipment (wood or panel processing preferred)
- Ability to read technical drawings and production documents
- Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting skills
- Strong attention to detail and quality
- Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Physical ability to stand for long periods and lift materials as required
Preferred
- Prior experience with WEINMANN equipment or similar automated framing systems
- Experience in prefabrication, modular construction, or panelized building systems
- Basic computer skills (HMI operation, data entry)
- Forklift or overhead crane certification
Work Environment
- Manufacturing plant setting

- Shift work may be required (day, evening, or weekend shifts)
