Overview

LTO Secondary: 1.0 DEV (Special Education). As a Long-Term Occasional Teacher (LTO) for DDSB, you’ll create a vibrant and supportive learning environment where students thrive. You’ll bring your passion for teaching to the classroom, guiding students through their educational journey and fostering a love for learning.

The Durham District School Board acknowledges Indigenous Nations with historic and ongoing ties to the territories where our schools are located. This area is home to Indigenous peoples from across Turtle Island. The DDSB recognizes the traditional and treaty lands of the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation, the Mississauga Peoples, and the Chippewas of Georgina Island First Nation. This statement was co-created in partnership with these communities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and deliver engaging lessons that align with the curriculum and support student learning.
  • Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback to help students grow.
  • Create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where every student feels valued.
  • Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and the community to enhance student learning.
  • Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the diverse needs of students.

  • Tentative course codes (if known): Developmental small class
  • Ontario teaching certificate (OCT) in good standing
Additional Information
  • External hires can take up to 10 working days to be processed which could affect the start date for this position
