Qualifications

What Is the Opportunity?

Reporting to the General Manager - Materials, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and overseeing the delivery of aggregates to various job sites in the Greater Calgary Area. The role involves managing orders, scheduling deliveries and directing truck drivers to ensure high quality service and customer satisfaction.

What You’ll Do Here:
  • Receive and process aggregate orders for pickup or delivery.
  • Coordinate truck schedules for deliveries by assigning haulers to customer orders.
  • Maintain communication with haulers and contractors to ensure timely service, providing updates and resolving any concerns.
  • Regular follow up with customers to ensure satisfaction with quality and service levels.
  • Support accurate record keeping and dispatch of aggregates through spreadsheets, haul cards and internal systems.
  • Ensure that Aecon’s corporate health and safety program is adhered to.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned by his/her Supervisor.
What You Bring to the Team:
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent.
  • 2+ years of dispatch experience in logistics and trucking, preferably in the aggregates industry.
  • Knowledge of truck haul routes and geography in the Greater Calgary Area.
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and focus on customer service.
  • Strong computer skills – proficient in Microsoft Office and dispatch systems.
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills.
  • Self‑directed and initiative‑taking with good organizational skills.
  • Adaptable to work a flexible work schedule when required.
  • Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
