We are currently searching for two Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) to join our team. These are permanent part-time night shift positions at our Terra Losa location in West Edmonton.

Responsibilities
  • Performing duties and services required by the Client Service Care Plan
  • Safe appropriate administration of medication as per current Standards
  • Supervising HCA staff to ensure safe appropriate implementation of client’s service plans
  • Updating services for Health Care clientele
  • Performing invasive procedures as per accepted CLPNA standards and company policies
  • Teaching delegated nursing tasks to staff as per accepted practice standards
  • Facilitating team communication to provide safe appropriate care services
  • Communicating with family, AHS, healthcare agencies, physicians and others regarding the needs and wellbeing of the residents
  • Perform delegated independent nursing functions using established procedures, policies, guidelines, and standards as observed by the registered nurse, supervisor or DOC
  • Perform selected tasks related to patient care and the patient's environment in a safe manner
  • Administer medication accurately, observing patient response, as evidenced by documentation in the medical record
  • Verify the medications being administered
  • Assist patients and family members with concern and empathy and with respect to their confidentiality and privacy
What You Bring to the Role (Qualifications)
  • Graduated from an accredited school of Nursing
  • Valid license and registration in good standing with Licensing Body of Alberta (CLPNA)
  • Current Healthcare Provider training
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Minimum 1 year in nursing in a seniors assisted living environment preferred
  • Delivers, practices, and role-models person-centered care
  • Treats residents and families as equal partners in the planning of care and respects and upholds their opinions
  • Demonstrates emotional intelligence
  • Effectively communicates by conveying information accurately, listening effectively and asking questions when clarification is needed
  • A team player and efficient while working independently
