Overview

A start-up residential mental health and wellness centre is looking to hire a Master’s-level therapist. The centre is located in the Schomberg / Palgrave region. We are a small, specialized facility that promises strong evidence-based competency in treatment and ethical care. Our programming focuses on life skills, issues with executive functioning, emotional regulation, and spiritual approaches to resiliency. This is an on-site role. We offer competitive salaries for strong candidates.

Qualifications
  • Master’s Degree or higher in counselling psychology or social work
  • Full-registration with the appropriate governing college
  • At least 3-years experience working with addiction and / or complex mental health
  • Specific training in DBT, ACT, EFT, IFS, and / or schema-based modalities
  • Experience leading psychoeducational and process groups
  • Experience building strong case conceptualizations
  • Strong understanding of Attachment and Family Systems theories
  • Understanding of addiction and concurrent disorders, including C-PTSD, ADHD, bipolar disorder, and personality disorders
  • Understanding of 12-step and other self-help group programs is an asset
  • Experience navigating complex ethical situations
Responsibilities
  • Provide dyadic therapy to patients
  • Lead psychoeducational and process groups
  • Conduct intake assessments and build individualized treatment plans
  • Communicate with other therapists, counsellors, doctors, nurses and general staff about the needs and approaches towards individual patients
  • Participate in dyadic and group supervision and training
  • Consult and work with patient family and / or stakeholders
  • Help develop and optimize treatment programming
  • Act with the highest standards of ethics and professionalism
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date client records
  • Stay current with advancements in addiction and mental health research, attending conferences and workshops to enhance professional knowledge and skills
