On behalf of our client, TEEMA is seeking a 14 month contract hire for our client beginning mid October 2025 – mid December 2026.

HYBRID-LIBRARIAN (CONTRACT)

We are seeking an experienced Law Librarian for a full-time, 14-month contract position. Reporting to the Director of Library Services, this role offers the chance to collaborate with a dynamic, team-oriented group of professionals in a supportive and engaging environment. The ideal candidate will bring 3 – 5 years’ experience in a Canadian law firm, along with a strong sense of energy, flexibility, and motivation. We\'re looking for someone who is driven to succeed and passionate about their work.

Responsibilities
  • Provide timely, high quality legal, medico-legal, business, and social media research for lawyers using a variety of resources
  • Monitor trends in specific areas of law, including legislation, case law, government and industry guidelines to provide comprehensive current awareness services
  • Maintain library databases including legal memoranda, expert directory and medical guidelines databases
  • Assist with library intranet maintenance and facilitate digital resource access
  • Participate in legal research training and library orientation for new firm members
  • Promote library services in the firm by collaborating with practice groups to enhance those services
MUST HAVES
  • 3 – 5 years of applicable experience is preferred
  • MI/MLS or equivalent degree in library or information studies
  • Experience in a law firm or special library is a strong asset
  • Proficiency with legal research resources
  • Knowledge of DB/TextWorks and WordPress preferred
  • Strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a collaborative mindset
  • Superior oral and written communication abilities
  • Proven ability to work independently and as part of a team
