About the Role:

As a Lead Development Miner/Jumbo Operator at Dumas, you will lead a development crew and operate a Jumbo drill to advance underground headings safely and efficiently. This role involves drilling, blasting, and installing ground support while ensuring adherence to mine plans and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Operate Jumbo drill to cycle full rounds according to the mining plan, following geology control for minimal dilution.
  • Lead a development crew to achieve safe and productive results.
  • Construct and maintain underground installations as the face advances.
  • Organize muck removal and maintain clean, safe work areas.
  • Ensure compliance with Dumas and site‑specific safety protocols and environmental regulations.
  • Conduct pre‑operational checks and routine maintenance on equipment, reporting all issues promptly.
  • Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to meet all targets.
  • Participate in workplace inspections and hazard assessments.
Qualifications:
  • Underground Hard Rock Mining Common Core with all required specialty modules.
  • Underground Hard Rock Mining Supervisory Common Core modules are a strong asset.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience operating a Jumbo drill in underground development mining.
  • Ability to cycle a full round and interpret drilling patterns accurately.
  • Proven experience leading a development crew.
  • Outstanding safety record and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Excellent safety record and commitment to safe work practices.
