Group / Grade: Bargaining Unit / Officer Grade Rate: $111,335.63 (start).

ONA is seeking to hire a Labour Relations Officer on our Member Education Team (MET).

Reporting to the Senior Manager, Member Education / Anti Racism and Anti Oppression, the successful candidate is responsible for providing learning solutions that ensure education is consistent with organizational and membership policy, the membership strategic plan and meets ONA members’ needs. The Labour Relations Officer will be responsible for designing, delivering, monitoring, and evaluating provincial education initiatives.

This is what else you can expect from this dynamic role:

Responsibilities
  • Design, assess, and update course curriculum and educational programs in compliance with the membership strategic plan and operational standards
  • Plan, deliver, and evaluate all learning sessions, workshops and presentations to ensure the delivery is aligned with identified learning objectives
  • Collaborate to develop and implement a communication framework to inform members and staff of workshops scheduled to be delivered
  • Collaborate and create education evaluation processes including feedback loops to service teams and members
  • Identifying skill, knowledge and resource gaps as required to perform tasks
  • Identify risks and opportunities related to ONA meeting our Strategic Priorities and goals
  • Modify learning plans and content based on learner feedback and current best practice learning models, in alignment with organizational, legislative and other changes and regular revision cycles
  • Partner with other teams to understand and support their needs and recommend viable solutions (e.g. assess and make recommendations on database needs, in collaboration with the Information Technology Team)
  • Partner with other teams and collaborate to develop new and relevant content for education and workshops, utilizing organization Subject Matter Experts
  • Develop, evaluate and facilitate staff orientation / on-boarding
What we are looking for
  • The successful candidate will have a degree or diploma as a Registered Health Professional and / or in Labour / Industrial Relations;
  • Post-secondary education in Adult Education, or actively engaged in pursuing such designation, preferred
  • Certificate in Project Management an asset
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience in needs-based educational program development, design and implementation
  • Experience in the design, facilitation and management of organizational initiatives to stated outcomes, required
  • Demonstrated focus on providing innovative solutions to meet the needs of our members
  • Excellent communication skills, oral and written along with proven excellent presentation and group facilitation skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, and have a basic knowledge of database applications
  • Bilingual English / French would be an asset
