Status: 12 month Full time Contract

Vacancy type: Existing

Location: 550 Louise St. Winchester, ON

Shift: Day Shift, Monday to Friday, 7:30 am to 1:00 pm and half day on alternate Saturdays. Work On Site.

Responsibilities

• Create an ideal customer experience that is best in class and engages with individuals around our products and services.
• Accurately enter data, patient, and test information for Ministry of Health requisitions.
• Obtain quality blood samples and other specimens from patients, using venipuncture techniques in line with Dynacare’s mission and values.
• Sort and steer specimens, perform ECGs, Holter hookups, paternity, urine, drug and breath alcohol collections.
• Ensure specimens and supporting documentation are completed as required in SOPs and ready for data entry and transportation to the laboratory, following established protocols for handling suitable and unsuitable samples.
• Maintain confidentiality of information and contribute to meeting the departmental/corporate quality metrics, regulatory compliance, and quality indicators.

Qualifications

• Completed Secondary School and a Laboratory Assistant training program or Medical Lab Assistant course with specialized training in phlebotomy.
• Customer-focused with a genuine care for patient health.
• Demonstrated skill in phlebotomy with the ability to manage anxious patients in a calm and reassuring manner.
• Ability to prioritize and self-manage within a deadline-oriented environment.
• Extremely detail oriented.
• Proficiency in English, both written and verbal, to communicate instructions clearly to patients.

Working Conditions

• Medical laboratory environment.
• May be required to lift up to 30 pounds.
• Repetitive movements with frequent computer use.
• Occasional standing, sitting, bending, and other movements.

Compensation

Pay rate: $20.00–$23.75 per hour. The final pay offer will consider factors including experience and education requirements.
