Kitchen Assistant – Tiny Bites Catering, Ottawa, ON (2555 Blackwell St.). Hours: Monday–Friday and Sunday, 7:30AM–2:30PM

About Us

Tiny Bites Catering prepares nutritious, kid-friendly meals for daycare centres across Ottawa. We are seeking a dependable Kitchen Assistant to support kitchen operations and uphold high standards of food safety and quality.

Responsibilities
  • Assist in ingredient prep: washing, chopping, measuring
  • Wash and sanitize dishes, utensils, equipment, and surfaces
  • Unpack deliveries, label items, and manage inventory using FIFO
  • Help with kitchen setup and breakdown, including light meal assembly
  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines per Ottawa Public Health
  • Participate in occasional menu prep or special-event tasks
Qualifications
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a commercial kitchen or similar food-prep environment
  • Valid Food Handler Certification (or must obtain before start); having a certified handler onsite at all times is a legal requirement in Ontario
  • Ability to lift up to 45lbs, stand for extended periods, and perform repetitive tasks
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, reliability, and punctuality
  • Effective communication and teamwork abilities
  • Have a reliable personal car
