• Working knowledge of SAP software is an asset.

Job description

Tomlinson is seeking a driven and detail‑oriented Junior Estimator to join our Estimation team. In this role, you will work closely with professional Estimators to support day‑to‑day estimating operations, contributing to the preparation, organization, and coordination of project bids. The ideal candidate is proactive, highly organized, and eager to learn industry‑leading estimation tools and processes. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES:

• Review bid sites on a daily basis and put potential projects on a list for the estimation manager and senior estimators to review. Projects that fit the profile for bidding will then be added to the bid board.
• Download all bid documentation and file them in the estimation SharePoint folder.
• Complete all job opening tasks in SAP including setting up projects in SAP and assisting estimators in pushing cost plans from Hard Dollar into SAP, as well as implementing standardized job opening process across the estimation division.
• Collect all successful bid contracts and circulate them for internal signatures and then handle them off to the Contract’s Coordinator to send out for owner signatures and to be tracked in the Contract’s tracking system.
• Assist estimators in setting up external subcontracts, reviewing completeness of subcontracts and transferring terms and conditions to our subcontract forms, tracking and sending completed packages to the Contract’s Coordinator.
• Track all bid closures and ensure the estimators enter all bid results into SharePoint to ensure accurate and complete information. Assist some estimators in entering the results if needed.
• Print sets of drawings and documents when required.
• Learn Estimation Software (Hard Dollar) and assist on new bids as needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

• A high proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power‑Point and Outlook.
• A high degree of proficiency using SharePoint.
• Excellent writing and communication skills.
• Working knowledge of SAP software an asset.
• Working knowledge of PlanSwift and/or Bluebeam software an asset.
• Excellent document control and organization skills.
• Fast learner of new software (Hard Dollar and SAP).

COMPENSATION INFORMATION:

• The expected salary range for this position is $60,000-$85,000. Placement within the range is dependent on a variety of factors including qualifications and experience.
