Job description
SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Mammoet is looking for task-oriented and enthusiastic individuals to join our team in the Edmonton region. Our positions offer the opportunity to develop industry-specific skills and grow your career. Working with Project Engineers and reporting to the Engineering Manager, the Junior Engineer provides technical direction to Mammoet projects through the preparation of critical lift, heavy transport and jack & slide execution drawings, calculations and procedures in accordance with Mammoet and client policies.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

Responsibilities will vary depending on the department but may include:

  • Using your expertise to develop best-in-class engineering solutions for heavy lifting and transportation projects
  • Working with both conventional methodologies and developing new approaches
  • Developing drawings using AutoCad along with in-house software tools
  • Developing calculations, visualizations, manuals, risk assessments and other key documents
  • Ensuring efficient execution that delivers the right results for the customer
WHAT YOU’LL NEED

Education & Experience

  • Experience in engineering operation practices and systems, Heavy lift and transport equipment, industry relevant codes and standards
  • English, fluent proficiency verbal and written
  • Evidence of experience in a similar role, ideally in any/some of the following sectors: civil engineering, construction, renewables, oil and gas, offshore, ports and mining, is preferred
  • 0-3 years of relevant work experience
  • A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Civil/Structural Engineering
  • Eligible for registration with APEGA as Engineer-in-Training

This will be a permanent position operating out of Edmonton office and local sites working Monday to Friday with possible rotational shift requirements. The successful candidate must have his or her own transportation.
