Keller is actively searching for an experienced Journeyman Heavy Duty Mechanic in Saskatoon and/or Regina, SK with 2-3 years of experience in Diagnosis and Repair of a variety of foundation drills and equipment used in the construction industry.
Responsibilities
- Diagnose and repair equipment and trucks, including hydraulic repair, brake work, electrical repairs and welding
- Read and understand equipment repair/service manuals
- Operate a variety of equipment to diagnose and repair breakdowns
- Maintain equipment by repairing and replacing different components
- Diagnose and repair equipment deficiencies
- Troubleshoot and repair hydraulic, electro-mechanical systems, power train, and safety aspects of mobile equipment maintenance
- Perform new and used machinery preparation, scheduled maintenance, repair or overhaul, including component replacement, commissioning and adjustment of mechanical/hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic equipment, including warranty upgrades
- Recondition and repair equipment components and systems as assigned
- Rigging, hoisting, and spotting for equipment movement according to instructions
- Troubleshoot mechanical issues quickly and efficiently with the ability to find solutions to difficult technical problems
- Work closely with Supervisor
- Complete all job-related duties as instructed by supervisor
- Maintain safe working conditions and adhere to Occupational Health and Safety regulations
- Participate in the Keller Safety Program including safety meetings, briefs and promoting our safety culture
- Ability to perform and pass a Pre Access and Post Incident Test
- Manage multiple priorities and projects simultaneously
Qualifications
- Red Seal Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanic Certificate
- Experience with Drill Rigs or Foundation Equipment an Asset
- Pass “Sure Hire” Fit Test
- Pass Drug and Alcohol Test
- Hands-on experience as a Heavy Duty Mechanic in the construction industry
- Self-motivated and willing to travel
- Ability to work in a team environment with interpersonal communication skills
- Ability to perform physical labor and other strenuous physical tasks, including frequent bending, kneeling and lifting up to 50 lbs
- Comfortable working outdoors in a high-stress environment with extreme weather fluctuations
- Ability to work in congested areas
- Capable of climbing and keeping balance on uneven surfaces
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License and access to a vehicle
- Assets: CSTS 2020, GD#2, OSSA, BSO, Fall Pro, First Aid
- Assets: Drill Rig, Loader, Skidsteer, Excavator tickets

- Sites throughout Western Canada, able to travel and work in camp environment
- 8 – 12 hour days – overtime as per Operator Union
- Day shift, Night shift, Weekends when required
- Rotation or Shift work if needed
Compensation
As per Operator Union Rates; Range $44.23 - $55.00
