Job Description

CHARACTERISTIC JOB DUTIES

• Ensures the general upkeep of the facility such as cleaning floors washrooms windows dusting collects and disposes of garbage vacuums
• Checks cleans moves arranges and dusts furniture as required
• Ensures the general upkeep of external property such as mowing lawns keeping sidewalks clear of snow and ice cleaning main floor outside windows picking up litter sweeping sidewalks gardening / watering and pruning shrubs raking
• Checks doors and windows to ensure building security
• Reports safety concerns and repair issues (ie : furniture and fixtures)
• Restocks washroom supplies
• Spot washes accessible walls strips and waxes floors and shampoos carpet
• Performs other duties as assigned

Minimum Education Level Attained

The successful job applicant will have completed Public School.

Alternative level of education and experience may be acceptable.

Minimum Prior Related Experience

Up to three months of prior related experience including previous cleaning experience and familiarity with cleaning supplies and procedures.

Physical Effort / Dexterity Required

The performance of the job requires frequently operating industrial cleaning equipment and tools mopping / sweeping bending / twisting / lifting shovelling snow etc.

Concentration Required

The performance of the job requires moderate to high attention when using motorized equipment handling hazardous chemicals and using non-motorized equipment and general cleaning.

Responsibility for Financial Resources

The incumbent is involved in minor financial matters regularly or on a relief basis or has responsibility for the wise use of his / her own resources. He / She may be authorized to spend disburse or collect small amounts of cash. The incumbent has very little input into the annual budget.

Responsibility for Human Resources

The incumbent is responsible for his / her own time and effort only. He / She may demonstrate work methods to new employees.

Compensation
