Senior Systems Support Technician at Bionic Spider Technical Solutions
As a Senior Systems Support Technician, you’ll play a critical role in delivering both proactive and reactive IT services to clients. Working onsite as well as providing remote support, you’ll manage network infrastructure, desktops, virtual environments, backup systems, security, and more.
This fast-paced role is ideal for someone with strong technical foundation, professionalism, and a customer-first attitude. You’ll liaise with clients, make recommendations, document client systems, and ensure standards-based IT environments are maintained in top form.
Responsibilities
- Deliver onsite and remote network and systems support to business clients
- Develop deep subject matter expertise for each assigned client and create and maintain technical documentation for client systems
- Develop and maintain strong customer relationships, more important than specific skills is a strong respect of people, businesses, and technology and providing value to clients
- A strong technical foundation with a corresponding confident and driven approach to learning and serving clients
- Conduct best-practice reviews and IT health checks to align environments with standards
- Onboard new clients with full technical assessments and documentation
- Administer and maintain LAN/WAN networks, virtualization, backup and security systems
- Identify and help mitigate risks in client IT infrastructures
- Produce and maintain client-specific technical documentation
- Work alongside team members to implement comprehensive IT solutions
- Track and submit time, mileage, and expense reports in coordination with office management
Experience Required
- Proficiency in Windows 10/11 and Windows Server 2016–2025 environments
- Experience managing Microsoft business class servers, desktops, networks and cloud technologies
- Skilled in troubleshooting firewalls, VLANs, NAS devices, and backup/disaster recovery systems
- Strong technical writing and documentation capability
- Detail-oriented, process-driven, and self-motivated
- Comfortable, confident and resourceful when working independently with a sense of urgency on client site
- Exceptional customer service and communication skills
- One or more technical certifications or equivalent real-world experience
- Reliable vehicle and valid BC driver’s license
- Availability for occasional off-hour support and flexible scheduling
- Ability to work remotely from home and with a small team
Preferred Qualifications
- MSP (Managed Service Provider) experience
- Knowledge of remote monitoring and management (RMM) tools
- Experience Troubleshooting Microsoft Windows in a business environment; Experience managing/troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Server
- Proficient with Active Directory Domain Services Administration and Group Policy Management
- Proficient with Microsoft 365 and Azure Active Directory
- Strong understanding of network connectivity and troubleshooting best practices including LAN/WAN network connectivity
- Proficient in Hyper-V management and troubleshooting
- Proficient in configuring/troubleshooting Firewalls
- Proficient in configuring/troubleshooting Network Switches including VLANs
- Experience with Backup/ Disaster Recovery devices
- Experience configuring/troubleshooting NAS devices
- Experience with Remote Management Tools (RMMs)
Compensation and Search Process
This is a full-time position based in Victoria, BC. Candidates should expect to be onsite at client locations 3–5 days per week, all other hours will be remote work from home. Typical hours are 8:00am – 4:30pm, Monday to Friday, with flexibility to accommodate client needs outside normal hours.
Compensation is competitive and based on experience, with an anticipated salary range of $70,000 - $100,00. Applicants must be legally eligible to work in Canada and consent to a criminal background check.
