Job description

The IT Security Analyst is responsible for managing risk related to information technology (IT) security consistent with our client’s business objectives.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and update information security frameworks (policies, guidelines and standards)
  • Perform security threat and risk analysis (TRA)
  • Evaluate, document and follow up on anomalies in information security frameworks
  • Keep tabs on threats and new trends in information security
  • Perform port scans to establish a baseline
  • Define and create policy around unauthorized/outdated software
  • Create vulnerability reports
  • Implement patches as required
  • Ensure antivirus software and policies are up to date
  • Monitor systems operations and manage network security

Requirements

  • Experience in managing vulnerability and security incident management
  • Recognized information security certifications (e.g., CISSP, CISM, SABSA) an asset
  • Good knowledge of network security principles and infrastructures
  • Proficient in the setup of security implementations (ACL, Port Security)
  • Previous experience with vulnerability scanning tools
  • Excellent understanding of information systems framework
  • Proven experience in supporting multi-platform systems and related applications
  • Experience with Linux Servers an asset
  • Experience with Windows Server Update Services (WSUS) an asset
  • Experience with port security and scanning software/hardware
  • Experience with patch management
  • Antivirus/anti-spyware management
  • Systems security management
  • Good understanding of IP and TCP/IP
  • Experience with Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) an asset
