Overview

APTN is looking for an Intermediate Accountant who’s not only sharp with numbers, but also ready to help us keep our financial house in tip-top shape, and maybe even have a little fun while doing it.

Responsibilities
  • Be part of the team of one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers;
  • Review for accuracy and monitor junior level AR/AP transactions;
  • Prepare and ensure assets are recorded accurately and sub ledgers balance to the general ledger;
  • Complete reconciliations, worksheets, and review certain accounts in the general ledger;
  • Ensure the payables and deposit sub ledgers are accurate and balanced to the general ledger;
  • Review, balance, and interpret A/R reports, and make corrections for verification;
  • Assist with all regulatory filings and remittances (GST, PST, Non-Resident withholding tax);
  • Be fully versed in accounts payable, accounts receivable and accounts payable programming.
Qualifications
  • A diploma or certificate in a relevant field and proven relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education, experience, and traditional knowledge;
  • Knowledge of Great Plains accounting system or a similar ERP is required;
  • Proficiency with Internet, E-mail and other business-related computer software is required;
  • Experience working with an Indigenous organization as well as knowledge of Indigenous cultural perspectives is an asset.
