Job description

CDN is a recognized industry leader in the energy services sector. CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement.

  • Role: Journeyperson and Apprentice Instrumentation Technicians
  • Location: Grande Prairie
  • Shift: Varies based on project
  • Overtime: Yes
  • Pre-Employment Condition: Pre-employment D&A test required
  • Start Date: Immediately after the onboarding process is complete
  • Tickets Required: H2S Alive, First Aid, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, and CSTS
Responsibilities
  • Follow all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures as directed by the HSE department.
  • Assist with installation, maintenance, and replacement of equipment, including instrumentation tubing and advanced systems like RTUs and compressor panels.
  • Perform calibrations independently using basic and advanced test equipment such as Hart Communicators and confidently work on pressure, level, and temperature transmitters.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and commission instrumentation systems with minimal supervision; assist in ordering and putting equipment into service.
  • Collect QAQC documentation and support Project Managers with project-related reporting and compliance.
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of gas, LEL, and fire detection systems, including setup and calibration of safety shutdown devices.
  • Work safely in various environments—including extreme weather and heights—while adhering to all safety protocols and SOPs.
Job Requirements
  • Journeyperson Instrumentation Technician.
  • A valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract.
  • Valid H2S, First Aid, Fall Protection, Aerial Work Platform, CSO, and CSTS.
  • Experience in the Oil and Gas industry in construction or maintenance is considered an asset.
  • Ability to work in various working conditions ranging from outdoors to indoors in a variety of weather conditions and working from heights as needed.
