The Opportunity

The College is currently seeking a dynamic and competent individual for the position of Instructor, Energy Storage Installation. Position Type: Casual

Location: Saint John

Salary: $33.85 to $52.08 per hour, based on the experience and level of post-secondary education.

Responsibilities

As part of the School of Professional and Part-time Learning and reporting to the Business Development Operations Manager, you will be responsible for the planning and preparation of instructional materials and resources; establishing and managing a positive learning environment; instructing and evaluating students; building and sustaining professional relationships with students, colleagues, community partners, and stakeholders; as well as other related duties.

Specific instructional areas may include, but may not be limited to:

  • Planning: Understand the principles and planning of energy storage projects
  • Design: Learn system sizing, configuration, and performance considerations
  • Installation: Gain practical skills for safe, code-compliant system installs
  • Commissioning: Test and verify systems for operational readiness
  • Decommissioning: Safely remove and recycle end-of-life battery systems
  • Operations & Maintenance: Monitor, maintain, and optimize system performance

The successful incumbent will be willing and able to integrate technology and active student learning techniques into teaching practices.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Engineering (Mechanical or Electrical preferred) or a valid Red Seal in the trades of Steel Fabrication, Welder/Fitter, or Welder and related and recent work experience at the Journeyperson's level.
  • Candidate must possess a CSA W 178.2 - Level 2 Welding Inspector Certificate.
  • Experience working in Quality Assurance and/or Quality Control.

  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively independently and within a team.

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
