Job description

Client is the national trade association representing solar energy companies operating across Canada. As part of its mission, as a national, not-for-profit association, Client works on behalf of its members to facilitate and promote the responsible and sustainable growth of solar energy across Canada.

Scope of Position

Reporting to the Vice President, the Director, Marketing and Communications is responsible for developing and implementing Client’s marketing and communications strategy, supporting the Association’s strategic objectives and other functional groups. The programs encompass activities to promote the growth of Canada’s solar industries by increasing awareness of solar energy and its benefits. They also aim to enhance Client’s brand by showcasing policy and advocacy initiatives, along with value-added products and services for members.

Client’s marketing and communications efforts target various stakeholders (e.g., existing and prospective members, partners, government officials, regulators, and the public) through a mix of traditional and digital channels. This role also supports national, provincial, and regional brand building, as well as Client’s government relations, policy development, and membership services.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Leading both individual and team efforts, the Director will:

  • Develop and manage the marketing and communications strategy, plans, and budgets
  • Lead, develop, and empower the marketing and communications team
  • Contribute to strategic planning and ongoing activities by monitoring relevant energy-related materials and providing analysis
  • Lead the strategy and execution of integrated marketing programs to increase solar energy awareness, reinforce market position, and promote Client’s brand and initiatives
  • Plan, measure, and evaluate the success and financial performance of campaigns
  • Create key messages tailored to different audiences, including industry members, government stakeholders, media, and the public
