Position Overview
Richelieu Hardware is looking for an enthusiastic and driven Outside Sales Representative to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for promoting and selling our wide range of hardware products to existing and potential customers within your designated territory. You will work closely with customers to understand their needs, build long-term relationships, and provide solutions that drive sales growth.
Key Responsibilities
Sales Development : Prospect new business opportunities and develop relationships with potential customers in your territory.
Customer Relationship Management : Build and maintain strong, lasting relationships with current clients, ensuring customer satisfaction and loyalty.
Product Knowledge : Stay informed about Richelieu’s full product line, including hardware solutions for woodworking, construction, and other related industries.
Sales Presentations & Negotiations : Conduct in-person meetings, product presentations, and negotiations with clients to close sales.
Sales Targets : Meet or exceed monthly and quarterly sales targets while maximizing profitability.
Market Intelligence : Keep up to date on market trends, competitor activity, and customer needs to identify opportunities for growth.
Collaboration : Work closely with the internal team to ensure smooth order processing and delivery, addressing any customer inquiries or concerns promptly.
Qualifications
Previous experience in outside sales and / or business development with strong skills to canvas new opportunities. (3 to 5 years)
Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels of an organization.
Self-motivated and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Knowledge of the hardware industry and related products is a plus.
The individual should also have strong computer skills especially in Microsoft Office (specific to Outlook, Excel, Power Point and Word)
College Degree in Marketing or a related field would be an asset.
