Dynacast Peterborough is dedicated to designing, building, manufacturing, and delivering quality die cast components. Below are additional details about what is offered at the Peterborough location:

  • 40 multi-slide proprietary zinc die casting machines ranging from 12 to 21 tons
  • Five multi-slide proprietary zinc die casting machines ranging from 70 to 200 tons
  • Injected Metal Assembly (IMA) up to one ton
  • Precision tool building with in-house capabilities
  • Design, prototyping, and modeling services
  • Wide range of finishing surfaces available including tumbling, polishing, shot blasting and thermal de-burring
  • Cosmetic or protective coating equipment either through certified suppliers or in-house
  • Wide range of secondary operations including CNC machining, tapping, reaming, and drilling
About the Role

The Industrial Millwright will support our maintenance team to keep facilities and equipment in optimum operable conditions at all times, driving improved uptime, as well as maintaining required Preventative Maintenance activities, and ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  • Troubleshooting mechanical and basic electrical breakdowns and repairing production machines using best practice methods, and evaluating and repairing machine components to improve uptime and support quality, production and shipment delivery commitments.
  • Completing Preventative Maintenance (P.M.) tasks, ensuring key spare parts and equipment are on hand to maintain operations at all times, to optimize machine and facility operations and minimize downtime/lost production to the Company.
  • Maintaining and repairing essential services to ensure facilities are in optimal condition to minimize the cost of operations to the Company.
  • Rebuilding sub-assembly component parts back to original print specifications to ensure availability for re-use when needed to support production requirements and ensuring customer delivery commitments are met.
  • Completing installation of machine tools, process equipment, and new plant services quickly, correctly and in compliance with applicable Codes and/or Regulations within identified timelines to support Company needs.
Education & Experience
  • Certificate of Qualification as an Industrial Millwright;
  • Minimum two (2) years\' electrical/electronic experience;
  • Certified Hoist Operator;
  • Certified Lift Truck Operator;
  • Previous experience setting-up and operating a die cast/injection molding machine preferred;
  • Previous experience in Quality Assurance with a focus on process/part improvement preferred.
Skills & Knowledge Required
  • Advanced level mechanical aptitude skills;
  • Intermediate level blueprint, schematics, and part assembly drawing reading and interpretation;
  • Intermediate level skill and working knowledge of die cast machine process and controls preferred;
  • Basic level Electrical/Electronic skills and knowledge, including experience and training in the diagnostics and repair of PLC/CNC controlled equipment and electrical safety standards and practices, and control circuitry preferred;
  • Basic level knowledge and proficiency in personal computer applications to manage Preventative Maintenance and work order requirements preferred;
  • Ability to set up and operate a die casting machine to support troubleshooting capability, preferred.

Shift Work Required: Days/Afternoons/Nights Monday-Friday
