Job summary

A leading automation company in Windsor, Ontario is seeking a skilled individual to tackle responsibilities including wiring electrical panels and troubleshooting control circuits. The candidate must have a valid journeyman electrician license and a strong background in electrical systems and assembly techniques. Experience working collaboratively in teams is essential. Qualifications

  • 3 - 5 years’ experience in the machine building industry.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in cross-functional teams.
  • Capable of working with engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Wire electrical panels and subassemblies for automation machines.
  • Mount electrical components and mechanical components.
  • Troubleshoot electrical and control circuits.
  • Assemble automation and robotic systems as per drawings.
  • Read engineering drawings.

Job responsibilities
  • Wire electrical panels and subassemblies to be installed into automation machines
  • Mount electrical components, wireway, cable tray and mechanical components associated with electrical devices
  • Ability to troubleshoot electrical and control circuits
  • Assemble automation & robotic systems in accordance with assembly and detail drawings and supporting documents
  • Read engineering drawings
  • Field Service & Machine Installations – as applicable
  • Familiar with mechanical, fluid, and pneumatic systems
  • Work in a team environment with the guidance of the Electrical Build Leader and Production Supervisor
  • Maintain direct communication with Electrical and Mechanical Assembly Supervisors
Knowledge, skills and abilities
  • Personal tools required
  • Must be able to read an electrical schematic
  • Must possess the knowledge and ability to modify components to ensure proper fit, tension, clearances, and overall working limits of the machinery or equipment
  • Must have a good working knowledge in electrical/mechanical assembly techniques and be proficient in working with hydraulic and pneumatic components
  • Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and codes.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting electrical schematics and blueprints.
  • Experience with PLC programming and HMI interfaces.
  • Must be capable of working with engineering documentation
