A community support organization in Calgary is looking for an Indigenous Program Facilitator to deliver culturally relevant, trauma-informed support to families. This role requires experience in community work, understanding of Indigenous culture, and the ability to connect families with resources. Responsibilities include program facilitation, community collaboration, and documentation. Ideal candidates will have post-secondary education in a relevant field and strong communication skills. Ee-Des-Spoom-Ooh-Soop, meaning 'the environment that gives opportunity to guide our lives forward in a positive direction,' was a name gifted to Closer To Home in ceremony by Piikani Elder Leonard Bastien Weasel Traveller. Ee-Des-Spoom-Ooh-Soop is a culturally-based Indigenous (First Nations, Metis, Inuit) program specifically designed for Indigenous parents and families. A key outcome of the program is that participants report a deeper understanding of historical knowledge to help process the impact of intergenerational trauma. They'll also experience an increased sense of belonging within the Indigenous community, culture, and with Indigenous resources. The Indigenous Program Facilitator is culturally grounded and offers a range of services, resources, and support. Their main goal is to help parents and families overcome obstacles to their healing and reconnection journeys.

The pay range for this role is:
48,150 - 48,150 CAD per year (Calgary & Area)
