Job summary

A community-focused organization in Northwestern Ontario is seeking an Indigenous Mental Health & Wellness Coordinator to provide culture-based supports for urban Indigenous individuals and families. The role includes delivering peer counseling and traditional activities while collaborating with an interdisciplinary team. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Social Services and strong knowledge of Indigenous culture and issues, alongside effective communication skills. This position offers a salary of $60,000 and requires availability for flexible hours.

Qualifications

  • Strong knowledge of family violence, child welfare, and the impacts of trauma.
  • Experience working with high-risk clientele with concurrent issues.
  • Self-motivated individual who can work with minimal supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Provide wholistic and culture-based supports for Indigenous individuals.
  • Coordinate services implementing trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches.
  • Deliver individual and group services, including peer counseling.

Education
