Job summary

A progressive non-profit organization is looking for caring individuals to fill the role of Support Workers. The ideal candidates will assist clients in achieving personal goals within the Supported Independent Living program. Responsibilities include fostering independence, engaging clients in community activities, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams. Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1-year of experience or a combination of education and experience.
  • Class 5 BC Driver’s License and a clean driver’s abstract required.
  • Criminal Record Clearance required.

Responsibilities

  • Support individuals to achieve personal goals with one-to-one assistance.
  • Follow rehabilitation programs to maximize independence.
  • Encourage client involvement in community activities.

Skills

Experience and understanding of Mental Health and Challenging Behaviours
Ability to support individuals with health concerns
Effective communication skills
Ability to motivate clients
Ability to work in a multidisciplinary team

Education

University degree or college diploma in a social science program
First Aid and CPR Certificate
Food Safe Certificate
